The Bottom Line
You do not need to register to use The Work State. We do not harvest your resume, we do not require user logins, and we do not track your specific identity across the web. We monetize through general display advertising.
Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to your access and use of The Work State ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). As a curated job aggregation platform, we do not require user registration, nor do we directly collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or resumes. However, to operate and monetize our platform effectively, we utilize automated tracking technologies and third-party advertising networks. This policy explains how non-personally identifiable information and device data are processed when you visit our website.
Information Collected Automatically
While we do not collect direct user submissions, we and our third-party vendors automatically collect specific device and usage information when you access the site. This includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and interaction data. This data is gathered strictly through the use of cookies, web beacons, and similar programmatic tracking technologies necessary for analytics, website performance, and the delivery of targeted advertising.
Client-Side Storage and "Saved Jobs"
To deliver a frictionless experience, we offer a "Saved Jobs" feature that does not require user registration or profile creation. We achieve this strictly through Client-Side Storage (Local Storage).
When you bookmark an opportunity, the data is saved directly within your own web browser’s memory, not on our internal servers. We have zero access to your saved jobs list, and clearing your browser cache will permanently erase this data. This decentralized architecture guarantees your job search remains entirely private and under your absolute control.
Analytics and Performance Tracking
We use third-party analytics services, specifically Google Analytics, to measure website traffic, evaluate user interaction, and improve our services. Google Analytics utilizes cookies to collect pseudo-anonymous data, such as your IP address, browser information, and on-site behavior. For more information on how Google processes this data, please review Google's Partner Sites Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Security, Infrastructure, and Content Delivery Networks (CDN)
We utilize third-party infrastructure providers, specifically Cloudflare, as a Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Web Application Firewall (WAF), alongside internal caching mechanisms to ensure the security, speed, and reliability of our platform. Our infrastructure automatically processes end-user network data, including IP addresses, security fingerprints, and DNS routing information. These providers may place strictly necessary security cookies (such as bot management tokens) on your device to detect malicious traffic, mitigate DDoS attacks, and protect our systems. This data processing is strictly for security and operational integrity, not for behavioral targeting.
Third-Party Advertising Networks and Cookies
Our platform is monetized through third-party advertising partners, currently including but not limited to Google AdSense and Ezoic. These vendors use cookies (such as the Google DoubleClick cookie) to serve personalized advertisements based on your prior visits to our website and other websites on the internet. This programmatic bidding process involves the sharing of device identifiers and browsing behavior, which constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under applicable US State Privacy Laws.
External Links and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
The Work State operates exclusively as a curation and aggregation service. Any interaction with job postings, including clicking "Apply," will redirect you to external third-party domains, employers, or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). We exercise no control over, and assume no liability for, the privacy practices, data collection protocols, security breaches, or terms of service of these external entities. Submission of applications and personal data to third parties is done strictly at your own risk.
US State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and similar state laws like the VCDPA and CPA, residents possess specific rights regarding their personal data. Because we do not retain direct personal profiles, our compliance focuses on behavioral tracking. We provide a mechanism to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your data for cross-context behavioral advertising through our dedicated cookie consent manager interface. We do not knowingly process sensitive personal information, nor do we discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
This website is intended for a general audience of professionals and job seekers. We do not knowingly collect, request, or track personal information from individuals under the age of thirteen (13) in accordance with COPPA guidelines. If we discover that data from a minor has been inadvertently collected via our automated advertising systems, we will take immediate steps to delete such information and block tracking.
Modifications to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion and at any time, including to reflect the integration of future advertising partners. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the website following such changes constitutes your binding acceptance of the updated terms and data processing practices.
Contact Information and Privacy Requests
If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, or if you wish to exercise your rights under applicable US State Privacy Laws, please contact our privacy compliance team at: legal@theworkstate.com. Please note that because we do not maintain user accounts, any requests regarding behavioral tracking must primarily be managed directly through your browser settings or our website's cookie consent interface.
